Crayon Melted on Clothing in Dryer
Did your precious angel leave a red crayon in her pocket that is now all over your favorite jeans? Not to worry - you may be able to save your clothes. First, put the stained clothing stain down on stack of paper towels and spray the clothing with WD-40. Let this stand for a few minutes, turn the fabric over and then spray the opposite side. Spread liquid dishwasher soap and work the soap into the stain. It should begin to dissolve into the paper towels so replace the towelling as it absorbs the crayon. Wash the clothing in hottest possible water with both laundry detergent and bleach for about ten minutes and rinse in warm water.
Note: Heat will set a stains so avoid drying clothes that have been stained in the wash cycle. If the crayon made it into the dryer, clean the interior of your dryer to remove any wax by spraying a clean cloth with WD-40, and wiping the interior down. Then dry a load of unimportant rags to ensure that your dryer is clean.

Let me start by mentioning that I am a stay at home Daddy, which should help explain my methodology a bit. .....I did it !!!!! I saved an entire load of clothes that were dried on high!!! with a red crayon tumbling around with them. these clothes looked like they had the measles !!! i tried the WD-40 method .... to no avail on most things, some things like cotton shirt, and a couple socks ( these were both shades of red to begin with though !!) But in a fit of genius.... spurred by the thought of my wifes reaction to the forementioned catastrophy, i ran to the garage and looked for something else that would be simmilar to the WD-40 which seemed to show promise. There it was a large can of GUNK brand engine degreaser, the foamy kind in the spray can. i grabbed it and began my attack on the red demon known to most by the name "Crayola" well darned if it didnt start to dissolve the stain immediately. i continued to attack each spot with the spray piling them on top of one another to rest as i completed my task. then i ran them with no detergent in the washer set on high temp heavy duty. When the load finished, the stains were almost gone ( with no tedious scraping or scrubbing) then after a couple washings with my favorite brand of laundry detergent... I use tide with bleach alternative. the smell of engine degreaser began to fade and the crayon was gone,,, from every peice of clothing that was a natural fiber base. the rayon nightgowns were history !! but the rest of my 3 under 8 year old girls clothes were good as new.... a couple old set in stains dissapesred in the process too!!!...
